Life lessons that come to us even once we thought we knew it all

Today I learned that my husband has a very dirty mind that comes from working in the construction field. He defined "ass-hat" for me in a way I'd never before heard and cannot find validation for his definition yet.
Begin each entry with - Today I learned... OR I learned today...
Do not add a title to your entry.
One "life lesson" per entry please.
Try to keep your contributions limited to authentic lessons you've learned recently.
Be concise. Keep entries down to a sentence so they inspire others to think on their own ideas of the lesson and how it moves them.
Let's try to keep labels to a minimum so subject matter is easier to find. Topics should be labeled as "ups and downs", "digging deep", "silliness", "good times", or "I can do it"
It will be an open blog so if you wouldn't want your parent/grandparent/child/grandchild/etc. to read it - don't write it.
There will be no commenting on other authors' life experiences - neither encouragement nor criticisms.
Be inspired by what you contribute, read, and learn each day and keep doing it!
Any other necessary guidelines will be established as the need arises.
